VOLUNTEERING
All parents are
required
to volunteer. This is a big production, not
only in terms of the number of dancers, but also
the expected number of audience members. You
need to choose (circle on the participation
agreement) which production committee you want
to volunteer on - you will be contacted by that
committee’s chairperson to receive more
information. The committees consist of: Crew,
Costumes, Dressing Room, Box Office,
Usher/Auditorium Check, Food Concessions and
Flowers/Souvenirs.
FLYERS
Each family is required to post
five (5) flyers at local business, churches,
schools, etc.
Forms listing the places you have posted your
flyers are due back by November 24th, 2008.
TICKETS
There is a discount of 10% if you
purchase 10–19 tickets, and there is a 20%
discount for the purchase of 20 or more tickets.
WARM-UP CLASSES
Regular
attendance at Ballet classes is an important
factor in the training and the maintenance of
the dancer’s abilities. In addition, warm-up
prior to rehearsals is necessary in order to
properly prepare the dancer for the rehearsal.
Improperly prepared dancers, either in terms of
lax attendance at classes or lack of warm-up are
subject to injury. The benefits of the warm-up
class will stay with the dancer throughout the
day even if the class was taken hours before a
rehearsal. Therefore, all dancers
must
attend, at a minimum, the
following number of ballet classes per week:
|
Beginners /Advanced
Beginner Dancers |
1 class per week |
|
Intermediate Dancers |
2 classes per week |
|
High Intermediate Dancers |
3 classes per week |
|
Advanced Dancers |
4 classes per week |
Classes may be taken at any dance
studio. Dancers outside of Manassas School of
Dance must bring in weekly notes signed by their
dance teachers (please get these forms from the
front office). Dancers who do not regularly
attend classes will be dropped from the
program. Advanced/High Intermediate dancers
must attend warm-up classes prior to all the
run-through rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and
performances.
REHEARSALS
Dancers
WILL NOT BE PERMITTED ANY
absences from rehearsals. Be sure to note all
your children’s rehearsals on the schedule

communicating a change in schedule can be
figured out.

cleared of all items prior to the opening of the
lobby doors to admit the audience. All audience
members must enter/exit through the front
auditorium doors. Only the Prince William
Symphony Orchestra may use the side doors.
Please respect/listen to the volunteer ushers.
PERFORMERS IN COSTUME
Dancers
are not permitted in the auditorium or lobby in
costume.
All performers are expected to hang up their own
costumes after they have taken them off.
Dressing room parents are there to help with
costume changes, but are not expected to pickup
after the dancers. Also, dancers are not
allowed to eat or drink anything other than
water while in the theater.
Thank you

experience that your child will cherish.

I have read all the guidelines
for The Nutcracker and have noted all the
rehearsals for my child(ren). We agree to
abide by all the rules and I understand that I
must volunteer for at least one of the
