It is the mission of MBT to contribute to our community by helping improve the quality of life through ballet. Our vision is to be one of the drivers of the development of our community as an arts destination, drawing audiences from other parts of Virginia, DC and beyond.

Key to this development is MBT's new performance home, the Community Performing Arts Center at George Mason University's PWC Campus. This 10 story, $56,000,000 facility is scheduled to open in early 2009. This state of the art facility is specifically designed to enhance the audiences viewing experience and will be one of the finest venues in the nation.

To serve our audience and community in a manner befitting such a wonderful venue, the Company continues to grow.

In March, Manassas Ballet Theatre signed a partnership agreement with the Prince William County Schools.  Under the terms of this agreement, MBT's Educational Outreach program within the county schools will grow from three or four presentations a year to a minimum of twenty.  As a result, an additional 10,000 students will receive the benefits of this program.

On April 10, the MBT Executive Director met with Superintendent Dr. Gail Pope and Dr. Michaelene Meyer, Deputy Superintendent of Curriculum to begin discussions with the Manassas City Public Schools about evolving our Educational Outreach program so that every fourth grade student in the system will receive a weekly exposure to ballet.  In addition, MCPS and MBT have agreed to begin exploring the possibility of leveraging MBT to help start a system wide Fin Arts Magnet program.
