Manassas Ballet Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation founded
in 1983 as Manassas Dance Company. Originally a performance outlet
for Manassas area dance students, in 1997 the Company began the
process of growing into a professional regional dance company.
Today, we are an established arts organization that employs a corps
of twelve professional dancers, performs a full season of four
productions, and utilizes a live professional symphony orchestra to
provide accompaniment for our performances. Manassas Dance Company
changed its name to Manassas Ballet Theatre in 2007 to better
reflect its professional status.
Also in 2007, Manassas Ballet Academy became a part of Manassas
Ballet Theatre.
MBT is now the second largest
professional ballet company in Virginia, the largest one in Northern
Virginia.
It is our mission to improve the
quality of life in Prince William County, Manassas and Northern
Virginia through the art of ballet. We accomplish this by providing
accessible and affordable cultural arts performances to the public
and by annually providing free performances to thousands of
schoolchildren in our community.
